Możdżer+ is one of the highlights of this year’s Solidarity of Arts. A result of dynamic international cooperation between biggest names in Polish and world jazz, this truly unique project was put together specially for the festival. It is shaping up to be the biggest jazz event of the year – and the Polish jazz calendar, particularly during summer and fall seasons, is traditionally pretty strong. Gdańsk-born prodigy composer and pianist Leszek Możdżer will rule supreme on three purpose-built stages arranged outdoors in the prime location of Targ Węglowy. He will be joined there by some of the finest jazz musicians in the business. The concept of Możdżer+ takes us beyond the traditional template of a jazz concert: it becomes an outdoor spectacle, taken out of the clubs and halls to the public spaces of the city.
Canal+ , who are co-producing the event, will be broadcasting it live with help of eighteen cameras.
It is important to note that the presence of most of the above artists individually at any jazz festival worldwide is bound to make headlines - easily. The fact that this August they will all perform with Leszek Możdżer during one show says a thing or two about the pianist, but also about the uniqueness of Solidarity of Arts 2010.
